Owner, Balanced Speech Therapy

After graduating from Emerson College in Boston, MA, I started my career as a Speech Pathologist at Mills-Peninsula Health Center in Burlingame, CA. At Mills-Peninsula, I enjoyed working working with both pediatrics and adults in inpatient and outpatient settings. I found a calling to work in Palliative Care and enjoyed working with a team of providers that cared for end-of-life patients. This work led me to specialize in swallowing evaluations and treatments while working as an Inpatient therapist. My work with a geriatric population also inspired me to join San Mateo County’s Commission of Aging where I served as Commissioner for 5 years.

In 2010 I completed my MBA in Healthcare Administration and accepted the position as the lead Speech Therapist for Stanford University Hospital’s Neurorehabilitation program. I enjoyed working with a variety of Neuro diagnosis and specialized in both post Stroke speech recovery and Parkinson’s Disease voice therapy (LSVT). I also worked part-time as an Inpatient Speech-Language Pathologist at Stanford Hospital where I enjoyed continued work with In-patient swallowing, speech, and language clients. Since the beginning of my career I have specialized in treatment of Primary Progressive Aphasia and love working with PPA clients and their families.

In 2014 I decided to open a Private Practice after the birth of my third child so that I could continue the work that I loved and also have increased flexibility to spend time with my three young children.

I truly love the work that I do and am thankful for the opportunity to continue my work here in San Mateo with both pediatric and adult clients. I am also incredibly grateful to have to be able to collaborate with some of the most talented clinicians in the field so that we may provide outstanding services for our clientele.
